Lantern Festival, this thing must be banned!

On January 27th, 2021, an accident occurred in Songshan District, Chifeng City, in which a car caught fire caused by Kongming Lantern. Fortunately, no casualties were caused.

At 17: 39 on the day of the incident, a Kongming lantern floated in front of a restaurant on Square Road, Songshan District, Chifeng City. Like "throwing ammunition", the flame fell on a black car. A passer-by saw the car on fire and immediately tried to put out the flames. Unfortunately, she didn’t succeed. She immediately turned and ran to the restaurant for help. In this process, the fire is getting bigger and bigger. Soon, the restaurant staff ran out with fire extinguishers, and soon the fire was put out.

From the picture, we can see that the traffic of passers-by and cars is very large, and it is very dangerous for Kongming Lantern to fall anywhere. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the wiper of the black car was burned. If the Kongming Lantern fell on passers-by or inflammable and explosive articles, the consequences would be unimaginable.

In the early morning of January 1, 2020, a fire broke out in Krefeld Zoo in western Germany. Firefighters rushed to the scene of the fire after receiving the fire alarm. The fire was quickly controlled, but the ape hall in the zoo was burned down.

The fire killed more than 30 animals, including chimpanzees, fruit bats and various birds, and injured two other chimpanzees.

A 60-year-old mother with two daughters came to the police station and turned herself in. They said that they bought five Kongming lanterns online and released them on New Year’s Eve. Maybe they were the culprit of the fire.

The police immediately confirmed their statement according to the handwriting on the Kongming Lantern. At the subsequent press conference, police chief Gade Hopman said: This 60-year-old woman is very responsible. She mistakenly thought it was reasonable and legal to put the Kongming Lantern on, and put it on.

After the Kongming Lantern burned in the air, the wreckage fell on the roof of the Ape Museum, igniting the dry dead leaves on the roof. Then the fire began to spread until the whole ape house was burned down.

The three men face up to five years in prison, and must compensate the zoo for millions of dollars in losses.
